Áine Ní Ghlinn
Áine Ní Ghlinn is a poet and children’s writer. She has written forty books, including picture books for very young readers, stories and novels for children and teenagers, poetry collections for children and adults. She was named as Ireland’s sixth Laureate na nÓg, 2020-2023.
Awards include:
Patrick Kavanagh Fellowship (2019), Duais de hÍde, Strokestown Poetry Festival (X 3); Duais Fhoras na Gaeilge, Listowel Writers’ Week (X 4); Gradam Reics Carló, Irish Language Book of the Year (2014, 2016, 2019); various Oireachtas awards for fiction & drama.
Shortlisted for Gradam Uí Shúilleabháin, Irish Language Book of the Year (2021) and one of Ireland’s three nominees for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award (2023).
