New Aosdána members gather at Arts Council

Newly elected members at their official welcoming to Aosdána, the affiliation of creative artists in Ireland, hosted at the Arts Council.

New Aosdána members, elected at the General Assembly in September 2025, gathered yesterday at the Arts Council to learn more about the affiliation of creative artists in Ireland.

The event was attended by new members (L-R) Paul Brady (Music), Nuala O’Connor (Literature), Mufutau Yusuf (Choreography), Áine Ní Ghlinn (Literature), Orla Barry (Visual Arts), Paul Mercier (Literature) and Locky Morris (Visual Arts).

The other newly elected members are Alan Gilsenan (Visual Arts) and Shih-Fu Peng (Architecture)

The members had an opportunity to meet each other as well as members of the Toscaireacht, Arts Council Director Moling Ryan, and Arts Council staff. The members listened to a presentation on Aosdána covering Membership; the General Assembly; Nominations and Election; Saoi; Toscaireacht; Cnuas and Administration, as well as hearing about Promotion and Special Projects.
