Today the affiliation of creative artists in Ireland, Aosdána, has elected 8 new members at its 42^nd General Assembly in the Hibernia Centre, Dublin Castle. Now totaling a membership of 250 members, the newly elected members are; Paul Lynch – Literature, Sinéad Ní Mhaonaigh – Visual Art, Ed Bennett – Music, Andrew Hamilton – Music, Shaun Davey – Music, Louise Lowe – Literature, Catherine Dunne – Literature and Roisin Heneghan – Architecture.  

The Arts Council announced this week the creation of a new all-island dance company. The Liz Roche Company, directed by Aosdána member Liz Roche, has been appointed to form the new all-island dance company with foundational strategic partners Maiden Voyage Dance and the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, University of Limerick.

Aosdána will hold its 42^nd General Assembly on Tuesday, 26^th March 2024 in the Hibernia Centre, Dublin Castle.

Aosdána and the Arts Council express deep regret at the passing of playwright, writer and Aosdána member Thomas Kilroy.

Aosdána expresses great sadness at the passing of the distinguished Irish composer, Seóirse Bodley, who has passed away at the age of 90. 

The Aosdána member and architect was awarded the Prize, which celebrates outstanding, international contributions to design, at the Royal Academy (RA).
