Dáirine Vanston

Born in Dublin, she exhibited widely in Ireland and abroad. Her paintings are held in private collections in Ireland, Europe, Australia and the Americas. She was a founder member of Independent Artists Group. She exhibited regularly in Living Art Exhibitions and Oireachtas Exhibitions in Dublin, and with Independent Artists until 1975. Her work was also shown with Figurative Image Group (1979); in Tom Caldwell Galleries, Dublin and Belfast; Municipal Gallery of Modern Art, Dublin; Graphic Studio, Dublin; Gallerie Druet, Paris (1925); National Opera House, San José, Costa Rica (1928, 30 and 32); and in the Daniel Egan Gallery, Dublin. She participated in group shows in the US (1932); White Stag Group, Dublin (1942-45); and Young Irish Artists, London (1945). Her work has been reproduced in Horizon magazine, and she was invited to contribute details of her career and work to the Archives of Modern European Art in Venice.
