Nancy Wynne Jones

Born in Dolgellau, Wales in 1922, she studied at Heatherly’s Art School and the Chelsea Art School in London, and St. Peter’s Loft in St. Ives, Cornwall. She first held solo shows at the New Vision Centre, London (1962), Galleria Numero, Florence (1963), Dolgellau, Wales (1964), NVC, London (1965), and Project Arts Centre, Dublin (1970). Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, she exhibited frequently at the Emmet Gallery, Lincoln Gallery and Hendriks Gallery in Dublin; she now exhibits at the Taylor Galleries, Dublin (1995, 97, 2000). She has participated in major group shows in London, Cardiff, Amsterdam, Livorno, New York and Washington, D.C. University College Cork held a career retrospective in 1992 which toured Ireland. She received a fellowship from the Ballinglen Arts Foundation in 1994, and is a member of the Royal Hibernian Academy. She is married to the sculptor Conor Fallon.
