Willie McKeown
William McKeown was born in County Tyrone and has lived and practiced as an artist in the Republic since 1988. He received an MA in Fine Art at the University of Ulster in 1994 having received an MA in Design from the Glasgow School of Art in 1987. His quiet authoritative paintings have been shown since 1995 at several exhibitions in the Kerlin Gallery, the Douglas Hyde, the RHA, IMMA and the USA. In 2000, he was one of just two Irish artists showcased in ‘The Sea and Sky’ – an international group show at the RHA. Solo exhibitions of 2005 include ‘The Room at the Horizon’ at the Project, Dublin.
